Training and Background
Professor Kipps has long experience in endurance and team sports medicine through his current role as the Assistant Medical Director of the London Marathon and previous roles as the Medical Director of the London and Blenheim Triathlons and Club Doctor for Harlequins Rugby Club.
He is coleader of the Masters program for Sport and Medicine at UCL, training the next generation of sport and exercise medicine clinicians.
Professor Kipps is also co-organiser of Marathon Medicine, the largest and longest running conference on the medicine and science of endurance sports world-wide. He is an elected Council member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, UK, and an elected Board member of the International Institute of Race Medicine.
His wife is an oncologist in SW London and they have three children who are at local schools. On a Sunday morning he helps coach at the kids’ rugby club.
