Many patients are referred for Physiotherapy and rehabilitation following their surgery and treatment at the Hospital. Those groups of patients who can benefit from a course of Post-Operative Physiotherapy include:
- Orthopaedic patients post arthroscopy, knee replacement, hip replacement and cruciate repairs
- Gynaecology patients following hysterectomy and anterior-posterior repair
- Spinal surgery patients
- Abdominal surgery patients following cholecystectomy, hernia repair, laparotomy and bariatric procedures
- Respiratory patients
The course of treatment that will be prescribed will be based on your condition and symptoms, the type of surgery that you have undergone and, of course, your own starting point and end goal. Your treatment plan may include some or all of the following:
- Education and advice
- Tailored exercise routines
- Hydrotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
