Neurosurgery

Your peripheral nervous system is made up of automatic nerves, motor nerves and sensory nerves. These control body functions such as your blood pressure, muscles, bladder function and the ability to sense hot and cold temperatures.

Spinal Surgery

Lumbar decompression surgery is a commonly undertaken procedure for the treatment of spinal stenosis, slipped discs, pressure on the spinal cord and other spinal injuries. More complex procedures are also routinely undertaken at the Hospital.

Removal of Tumours

Tumours (benign or malignant) can be surgically removed and following examination of the tumour during your diagnosis, we may be able to safely remove it with surgery. We also perform pituitary surgery to specifically remove tumours on or near the pituitary gland. The procedure could be followed by a course of chemotherapy or radiotherapy as part of your cancer treatment by our Neuro-oncology team.

Vascular Neurosurgery

Vascular Neurosurgery is used to treat conditions that affect the blood vessels in the brain and spine following a stroke or Trans Ischaemic Attack (TIA).
