High Dependency Unit at Parkside Hospital
In order to deliver high standards of patient care, Parkside Hospital operates a specialist four-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) that provides level two care on a planned, elective basis following surgery or for those patients whose clinical condition deteriorates unexpectedly.
The HDU can provide:
- Emergency ventilation
- Immediate blood gas analysis
- Cardiac monitoring
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) ventilation
- Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) ventilation
