Parkside wins Gold at the UK Employee Experience Awards
Parkside Hospital was celebrating yesterday after winning Gold at the prestigious UK Employee Experience Awards (UKEXA).
Parkside secured the Gold award in the ‘Employee Health and Wellbeing’ category in recognition of the hospital’s innovative health and wellbeing strategy, which focuses on the four pillars of physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing.
The wellbeing strategy has proven highly effective at Parkside and has been rolled out across Aspen Healthcare’s eight sites.
Parkside Hospital beat stiff competition from Loughborough University and Claims Consortium Group, a leading property insurance claims handler.
The UKEXA is not the first time that Parkside’s staff wellbeing strategy has been nationally recognised for excellence. The wellbeing initiative won Gold at the 2019 UK Business Awards and was also shortlisted as a finalist in the 2020 REBA Employee Wellbeing Awards.
With more than 40 companies presenting virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s award ceremony was unlike UKEXA events of previous years.
Speaking about the awards, Phil Bates, Hospital Director at Parkside, said:
“We’re delighted to receive this prestigious award for our commitment to employee wellbeing. The strategy has not only made a huge impact at Parkside – it has influenced and informed wellbeing work across Aspen Healthcare, with similar initiatives being rolled out across the company. We know that when our staff have a sense of wellbeing this reflects positively in the delivery of care and service to our patients. A huge well done and thank you to the Parkside team who work hard every day to deliver exceptional healthcare to our patients.”
