PARKSIDE PRIVATE HOSPITAL INTRODUCES PIONEERING ROBOTIC-ARM ASSISTED JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY

We have welcomed the Stryker Mako robotic-arm to our Orthopaedic Department, assisting  our surgeons with knee and hip replacement surgery. As we introduce this new technology, it highlights our position as a centre of excellence. The state of the art robotic-arm will be used by our surgeons to offer patients in Wimbledon and surrounding areas an alternative to traditional methods of joint replacement surgery.

We are proud to be adopting the new and pioneering approach to joint replacements using the Mako system, it offers a higher level of alignment and positioning during surgery, resulting in a speedier recovery and reduced post-operative pain. Thanks to the Stryker Mako, our patients can get back to their active lifestyle quicker, whether it be a seaside walk or a game of golf.

Mr Giles Heilpern, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon said: “It’s a very exciting time for Parkside as we say hello to this new and innovative technology for knee and hip replacements.  We can now offer our patients a smoother and quicker recovery in comparison to other traditional methods.
