About
Paddy Stone is the Professor in Palliative Medicine at University College London (UCL). He was educated at Wimbledon College, Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He qualified in 1990, obtained the MRCP in 1993 and an MD in cancer-related fatigue in 1999.
He took up his first consultant appointment (at St George’s Hospital) in 2001. In 2014 he was appointed as the head of the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department at UCL and an honorary consultant at UCLH.
Dr Stone was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Palliative Medicine at St George’s University of London in 2001, and was promoted to Professor in 2012.
His research interests include the mechanisms and management of cancer-related fatigue, prognosis of advanced cancer and quality of life and symptom assessment.
