About

With a distinguished clinical, academic and leadership career spanning over 25 years in the NHS, Dr Nnenna Osuji has been a haematology consultant for 18 years working at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust until 2023.

In this role, she catered to all general haematology conditions including malignant haematology (lymphoma, leukaemia), clotting and haemostasis, haemoglobinopathies (sickle cell and thalassaemia), anaemia, thrombocytopenia etc. She was also Honorary Consultant at the Institute of Cancer Research/ Royal Marsden NHS Trust from 2007 to 2011.

Dr Osuji graduated with honours from the University of Aberdeen, specialised in haematology in South West London training at St. George’s Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Croydon Health Services and the Royal Marsden. She is treasured by patients and colleagues alike, for a patient centred, compassionate approach to high calibre care.

Dr Osuji was the lead clinician for haemto-oncology/MDT/Chemotherapy for 10 years, Lead for Haemostasis and Thrombosis from 2014-2015 and Head of Department from 2012-2015. In that latter role, she secured CPA accreditation of the laboratory and clinically represented the interests of the laboratory in the centralisation of SWL Pathology services.

Dr Osuji spearheaded the formation of the joint MDT service traversing three NHS trusts and five hospital sites, piloting video conferencing services in that era. She led on multiple successful peer reviews of the haemato-oncology MDT and chemotherapy services and led on the implementation of electronic chemotherapy prescribing.

Since 2015, Dr. Osuji has provided extensive, executive clinical leadership within the NHS, and continues to practice clinically with care delivered through Nuffield Parkside Hospital.
