Dr Sam Firoozi graduated from Guy’s & St Thomas Hospitals Medical School in 1995 and completed his basic medical training in a number of London teaching hospitals and specialist units. In 1999 he obtained a British Heart Foundation Fellowship and undertook clinical research looking into heart muscle disorders and sports cardiology. From 2002 to 2008 he undertook specialist cardiology training and a subspecialty interventional cardiology fellowship at St George’s Hospital. Dr Firoozi has dual UK accreditation in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine. He was appointed as Consultant General and Interventional Cardiologist in 2009 and since then has developed a large practice at St George’s Hospital and is established as the highest volume interventional cardiologist in the main regional cardiothoracic unit with a particular interest in complex and high risk coronary intervention. His other fields of interest include cardiovascular risk assessment, sports cardiology and heart muscle disorders. He is a member of the British Cardiac Society (BCS), the British Cardiovascular Interventional Society (BCIS) and the Royal College of Physicians.
