Clinical interests:

Gastroenterology, endoscopy and colonoscopy. Particular interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel disease (IBS), GI infection, indigestion and bowel cancer.

Training & background:

Dr Pollok is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s Hospital and Medical School. He is fully registered with the GMC and have specialist certification in Gastroenterology and General internal Medicine. Dr Pollok trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and was awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Training Fellowship gaining his PhD in the field of gut immunity and infection. His current research programme focuses on the causes of inflammatory bowel disease and improving diagnosis. His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, indigestion and heartburn, chronic diarrhoea, gut infections, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and family screening for bowel cancer. He is an experienced therapeutic endoscopist and has performed many thousand gastroscopies and colonoscopies.
