Dr Peter Thomson is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine and has practiced privately at Wimbledon Clinics since 2005. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in treating sports injuries, with a particular interest in those associated with football, rugby, skiing and running.
Peter Thomson is involved in teaching through the Wimbledon Clinics Educational Programme, as well as within the Department of Physiotherapy at St George’s Hospital. More specifically, he is involved in musculoskeletal education of GP Registrars.
He is also an Honorary NHS Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine for Battersea Healthcare, where he has worked as the Lead Physician in the MICAS (Musculoskeletal Interface Clinical Assessment Service) since 2004.
Training & background:
Peter Thomson qualified from the Westminster & Charing Cross Medical School in 1985, before training in Sports Medicine at the Academic Department of Sports Medicine, Royal London Hospital & Queen Mary’s College. He also holds a diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound which he gained from Bournemouth University in 2015, and uses diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound in his clinical practice.
