Clinical interests:
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist based at St George’s Hospital, London and Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton. I qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and completed my junior and specialist training in London. I have been a consultant for over 10 years and have a particular interest in luminal gastroenterology and endoscopy.
I am involved in all aspects of gastroenterological care running weekly gastroenterology clinics at St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals along with specialist Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinics at St George’s. I run an in-patient team at St George’s Hospital looking after patients with complex gastrointestinal problems. I also carry out regular upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy lists at St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals and I am an accredited screening colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme delivering this service for South West London and Gibraltar.
In addition to my regular clinical work I have carried out work for the British Society of Gastroenterology, The Royal College of Physicians and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
Training & background:
Dr Andrew Poullis qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, carried out junior doctor training in London and since 2005 has been a full time NHS consultant working at St George’s Hospital, London and Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton. He is an an accredited colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer screening Programme.
