Breast Uplift (Mastopexy)

Restore your breasts with Breast Uplift Surgery

If you are happy with the size of your breasts but struggle with the issues of sagging or drooping, you are not alone. The loss of skin elasticity can affect women at any stage in their lives and for a variety of reasons including weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding and as part of the ageing process.

If this sounds like you, you may have found that even a good bra and pectoral exercises are unable to restore the uplifted look you desire. Breast uplift surgery or mastopexy, to use its medical term, is a process which aims to restore a pert look to your bust and a full, firm shape to breasts. As a result, it can also help restore confidence in your body and help to raise your self-esteem.

Is the breast uplift procedure suitable for me?

Breast uplift surgery is an important decision and we take care to provide a consultation procedure that will deliver all the information and guidance you need to make up your mind. This form of surgery may be suitable for you if you are comfortable with the size of your breasts but are experiencing sagging or drooping that is causing you distress or discomfort. If, however, you also desire to change the volume of your breasts, it may be worth looking into an additional breast enlargement or reduction depending on your needs. Your consultant will provide details on the procedures that could best meet your requirements.

Can I change the size of my breasts at the same time as an uplift?

It is possible and quite usual to combine two procedures into one operation. If you choose to have implants, your surgeon will discuss the range of implants you can choose from and the pros and cons of each. We only offer high-quality implants that have FDA approved and come with lifetime warranties. They are from reputable suppliers and come with a lifetime guarantee.

What takes place during a breast uplift operation?

There are a few different methods to uplifting breasts but the most common technique involves making an incision around the nipple and vertically down to the crease where your body and breast join. Excess breast tissue is removed to create the size you desire and the nipple is shifted to a more suitable place for the new cup size. Stitches and a dressing will complete the procedure. You will sleep through the entire procedure, under a general anaesthetic. Expect the operation to last up to two hours.

What takes place after breast uplift surgery?

You will be required to stay one night in the hospital. You are likely to feel sore and experience some swelling and bruising at first so it is important to take one or two weeks off work to rest. You need to refrain from heavy lifting or any level of physical activity that could damage the skin of your new breasts during the first few weeks of healing. You will be given a supportive bra that must be worn both day and night for a period of time detailed by our medical staff. The scars resulting from the incisions will be located on the underside of your breasts, from your nipple in a straight, vertical drop to the crease below. This means you will be able to wear low-cut tops, bikinis and bras without worrying about showing your scars. Over the next twelve months, most scars will fade into your natural skin tone.

A breast uplift procedure involves surgery so initially, there will be swelling and soreness at the operation site. However, you will be prescribed medication to help relieve tenderness and there shouldn’t be any severe pain.
