Why use us?

Due to current Product Liability legislation, it is imperative for anyone working with re-usable medical devices to ensure all decontaminated items can be traced back to specific process cycles.

Many clinicians decontaminating locally may find they do not have up-to-date methods in place, including validations of processes being used, opening the way for action should a patient claim an adverse clinical outcome as a result of cross-contamination from dirty instruments. By outsourcing this service, the liability for ensuring sterility to nationally compliant standards transfers to us – meaning your practice has one less thing to worry about.

We can provide a faster turnaround than our larger competitors and as a smaller, locally based facility, we have better control of our customers’ property and can work closely with you with regards to delivery/collection and instrument availability timings. So you’ll no longer find items get ‘lost’ in the system and procedures have to be cancelled or delayed. We also offer our customers pack traceability through each stage of the decontamination process, which can then be tracked back to the patient.

Our accreditation and decontamination process

With full accreditation to the Medical Devices Directive (MDD/93/42/EEC), ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, we offer the assurance that the contamination status of re-usable surgical instruments will not adversely affect clinical outcomes. Extensively planned microbiological testing of the SSD including product and raw materials bioburden testing, environmental particulate and microbiological testing, supports this assurance.

Total Viable Count and Endotoxin testing of water supplies and, where applicable, fluids used in the production processes are also carried out. In addition, machinery used in the decontamination process is also subject to planned preventative maintenance, testing and validation as defined by national and European legislation.
