Respiratory Medicine
Respiratory medicine is concerned with the organs and tissues associated with breathing including the nasal passages, trachea, pharynx, larynx, lungs and bronchi.
We offer regular outpatient clinics with our Consultant Physicians to assess and treat a full range of respiratory conditions. At Parkside Hospital your consultant has access to a range of speciality services including biopsies, blood tests, lung function tests, ECG, x-ray and other tests to aid diagnosis.
Our Consultant Respiratory Physicians have expertise in:
- Asthma
- Breathing difficulties
- Chronic cough
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Emphysema
- Sleep apnoea (snoring and breathing difficulties during sleep).
Referrals
You will usually need to be referred to this service by a GP or other healthcare professional.
