 Who do we see?

• Orthopaedic patients, (i.e. arthroscopy, knee replacement, hip replacement, cruciate repairs)
• Gynaecological Patients (i.e.TVT, Anterior-posterior repair, TAH)
• Spinal Surgery patients
• Abdominal Surgery (i.e. Cholecystectomy, Hernia Repairs, Laparotomy, Barriatric procedures)
• Respiratory patients

 When do we see you?

Some patients are seen pre-operatively. All Patients are then seen on the wards, then where appropriate patients are also seen within our physiotherapy outpatient clinics, to maximise rehabilitation and recovery.

 What does treatment involve?

This depends on surgery.  However, it will include a specific assessment of function with provision of education, advice and exercises.  In some cases it also involves equipment fitting, hydrotherapy and referral then for occupational therapy input or further outpatient physiotherapy.
