Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the diseases of the eye and vision.
We have a dedicated ophthalmic room and offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Ophthalmologists who will care for you from diagnosis through to treatment. Should further treatment be required ,the hospital has four fully-equipped theatres, a Day Care Unit and ensuite private bedrooms for your recovery.
Our Consultant Ophthalmologists have expertise in:
- Cataract surgery
- Glaucoma
- Strabismus
- Diabetic retinopathy and advanced diabetic eye disease
- Eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery
- Cosmetic blepharoplasty
- Thyroid eye disease.
Referrals
You will usually need to be referred to this service by a GP, optician or other healthcare professional.
