Do you have an aching back or neck from sitting at work? Strained your shoulder playing tennis? Or are you training for the marathon and worried about that leg injury? Don’t let injury or pain limit your lifestyle.

What does treatment involve?
Yours first appointment will usually last 45 minutes. This will consist of a detailed history-taking, physical examination and treatment. Treatment will mainly consist of manual (hands-on) techniques or mobilisations. Your therapist may also prescribe exercises to be done at home. Additional forms of treatment may include stretches, acupuncture or electro-therapy. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes.

Who will I be treated by?
All Parkside Physiotherapists are chartered and state registered. They have all been qualified for at least 4 years.

Do I need a doctor's referral for Physiotherapy treatment?
No. We accept self-referrals, GP or Consultant referrals. If you are paying via an insurance company it is advisable to notify them first.

What do I need to wear for treatment?
You may be required to undress depending on the location of your injury. For lower limb problems a pair of shorts would be advisable.

What other services are available in the Physiotherapy departement?
We have an in-house sports massage and podiatry service. We also enjoy a close working relationship with the Parkside consultants therefore if needed you can be referred to the appropriate specialist.

In addition the Hospital has an onsite Hydrotherapy pool as well as experts in Neurophysiotherapy.
