Mr Soldin is the current chair of the body contouring special interest group at BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons). He has published numerous articles on the topic and chaired the body contouring session at the winter BAPRAS meeting held at the Royal College of Surgeons in December 2012.
It was at this meeting that the first UK research into life quality after massive weight loss body contouring was presented. (Mr Soldin was co-investigator in this project). His innovative work in upper body lifting, using tissue from the back folds to provide autologous tissue augmentation for breast reconstruction in this patient group was also presented to the international audience and well received.
