Clinical interests:

As a Senior Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, I am the educational lead. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer with The St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students on a weekly basis. I perform selection interviews, examine and lecture medical students several times each year. I am an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, and I am the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons representative on the Intercollegiate Board of Examiners. I represent the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons at the BMA Paediatric subcommittee meetings as well as at the Surgery subcommittee meetings. I am a Senior Journal Article Reviewer with the Journal of Paediatric Surgery, and a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London. I am a general paediatric surgeon with a special interest in neonatal, and gastro-intestinal surgery, as well as inguinoscrotal surgery and I provide vascular access for long term parenteral nutrition, or chemotherapy. I perform appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and fundoplications laparoscopically when appropriate, and I perform many Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomies for assisted nutrition. The more common neonatal conditions I manage include Hirschsprung’s disease, malrotation, atresias of the oesophagus, and bowel, and necrotizing enterocolitis. Each year, I prepare 3-5 medico-legal reports.
