We are delighted to announced that a Neurophysiotherapy service is available at Parkside Hospital.

People suffering with a neurological problem may experience difficulties with day-to-day activities due to loss of movement, sensation, balance or coordination. Neurophysiotherapy aims to aid the management of these problems through advice, education, exercises and management programmes and strategies. By working together with the patient, the physiotherapist can aid a return to activities and interests.

A Hydrotherapy service is also available.

The service runs from Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

A wide range of neurological problems are treated, including:

Strokes (CVA)
Multiple Sclerosis
Guillian-Barre Syndrome
Parkinsons Disease
Head Injury
Brain and Spinal tumours
Spinal Cord Injuries
Neurological Conditions
Post Neuro-surgery
Balance / Vestibula problems
Facial Palsy.

The service is run by a Chartered Physiotherapist with experience in neurological disorders and management of neurological symptoms.

Physiotherapy may be beneficial from diagnosis and throughout the condition process. Advice will be given alongside the most appropriate treatment and exercise programme. The service will encourage returning to functional activities and aid maximal results.

People may benefit no matter how major or minor their symptoms are, and a maintenance programme can be provided.
